Essay

Realization of virtuosity in culture is related to performing art. Here developed is broad conception of virtuosity in music, providing for virtuosity consideration as a crucial factor of a composer's style and embracing mechanisms through which virtuosity is realized within the author's text of a musical composition. Object of the research is principle of virtuosity in music of the second half of the XIX - early XX century, and variants of its realization underlying the dynamic components of music style within the genre of Russian romantic piano concerto. Studied are compositions by A.Rubinshtein, N.Rimsky-Korsakov, P.Tchaikovsky and A.Skryabin in terms of the evolutional stages of Russian piano concerto (adapting, assimilating, generating and synthesizing).
