Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the reconstruction of the Th.Hobbes' and J.Locke's social philosophy. The special emphasis is made on their elaboration of the main component ideas of the future social legal-state concept. The subject matter of the research is defined as the Th.Hobbes' and J.Locke's social philosophy from the point of view of its place in the social-legal state idea formation. The object of the research is the historical-philosophic context of the social-legal state idea genesis. The place of the Th.Hobbes' and J.Locke's social agreement theory is reestablished in the formation of the social-legal statehood concept. The meaningfulness of the supreme sovereignty concept as the profound idea is proved. This idea makes possible to reflex the freedom and human rights in the philosophy of Th.Hobbes and J.Locke: common features and differences of the Th.Hobbes' and J.Locke's social-philosophic concepts in the context of their attitude to the ideas of freedom, justice, equality, common weal aresystematized; the connection between the Th.Hobbes' and J.Locke's philosophic-political ideas and contemporary institutes of parliamentarism, social democracy and legal state are exposed.
