As a result of the analysis of outgassing control problems in underground workings common problems of mineral coal porosity definition, as source of a methane emission are detected. The data about behavior of fossil coal structure and porosity under high hydrostatic pressure up to 2,1 ГПа are obtained. Regularities of fossil coal destruction in conditions of high nonquecomponent pressure up to 1,4 GPa are obtained. It is shown, that the destruction of coal in such conditions descends in several stages. The model of the destruction mechanism depicting experimental data is offered. A regularity of temperature effect on processes of destruction at high nonquecomponent pressure up to 1,4 GPa are obtained. The temperature effect has stage nature, affecting both on fluids in a pore volume, and on aliphatic component of structure. It is shown, that the closed porosity of fossil coal is a source of gas, the allocation from which one is spread in time, and in conditions, when the outgassing is described by thediffusive laws, the dangerous concentrations formation time linearly increases with increase of a porosity. On the basis of the obtained porosity destruction legitimacies the express- technique of fossil coal common porosity definition designed, and the method of the forecast of methane dangerous concentrations time formation in underground workings is advanced.
