The thesis is devoted to the research of the status of woman in the social, economical, judicial and political spheres in the period from the formation of the USA until 1920. In this work the evolution of woman's rights and possibilities in the social and political sphere is analyzed, the causes and the character of changes of the woman's status, the impact of the social and historical phenomena on these changes are defined. The role of the suffrage movement in the broadening of the equality of American women rights in the political, social and economical spheres.
