3. The object of research is the bulbs of indigenous selection potato. The goal of the this research is to provide a complex evaluation of most popular and widely spread varieties of potatoes, carry out the comparative analysis of their storing qualities, as well as determine the most competitive varieties in different ripeness groups. The methods of research used are general scientific and special (production, laboratory, statistical methods). The scientific innovation lies in the following: a) complex scientifically substantiated analysis of new and perspective varieties of potatoes of in-country breeding as regards their economic and consumer characteristics has been accomplished; b) methodology of how to determ competiti- veness of different potato varieties has been developed. The sphere of results application variety testing stations, project development for potato storages construction, elaboration of new standards, educational purposes.
