Object - 141 patients with complicated peptic ulcer (CPU), purpose - to establish the role of dysbacteriosis of the large intestine (DLI); intensification of the processes of lipid peroxidation (LP), the peculiarities of the functioning of the antioxidant system (AOS) in the origin of PU complications, to work out a technique of differentiated treatment depending on the degree of DLI and patients age; methods - clinical, biochemical, microbiological, instrumental, morphologic; novelty - for the first time the role of DLI during the course of PU and dependence of these processes on LP and AOS has been investigated and analyzed; results - an increase of the efficacy of patients multimodality therapy, prognostication of relapses and severity of the PU course, a shortening of the term of the hospital stay; introduction into the teaching process and medical practice; branch - medicine.
