Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the complex examination of establishment of a new variety of opera, a choral opera a capella, in the scope of stylistic and genre searches of the last third of the 20th century in Ukrainian music. The present paper enlightens specifics of discovery of folklllore sourses (namely, those of archetype) by Ukrainian composers that proceeds from their influence on typical genre and stylistic models. This material gives insight on stylistic trends underlying the works of Ukrainian composers as well as original modifications of genre paradigm of opera in the process of evulution of its new variety, a choral opera a capella.
