Dissertation dedicated to studying epidemiology and prevention of sudden infant death syndrome. The complex of preventive measures was developed after studies on the main social-economical and medical-biological factors of SIDS risk, conducting and comparative analysis of health care for children in the various regions of the world and Odessa region. Selection and elimination of social-medicine and medical-biological factors of sudden infant death syndrome in health facilities on the levels of Women Wealness Centres, maternity houses, child policlinics and in-patient department; monitoring children on home sites and in hospitals, education community and health providers on the questions of sudden infant death syndrome by promotive activities of the SIDS Centre, medical establishments and Association of the support of families were effective for decreasing rates of sudden infant death syndrome-in Odessa region.
