Peculiarities of creation of the archival institutions net on the territory of the nowadays Cherkasy region and the main aspects of its activity are investigated in this dissertation on the basis of comprehensive analysis of source base and scientific literature.Formation of Cherkasy Region Archival Fund and solving the problems of the physical and intellectual access to the archival information is elucidated in details.Work of the Region State Archives on the archival documents securing, completing of the state archives, registration and creation of the inquiry apparatus, usage of the archival information, organization of work with departments and archival education is analyzed.
