Telvak V. Mikhailo Hrushevsky as a researcher of Ukrainian historiography

The dissertation is devoted to the research of M.Hrushevsky's historiographical activity in the context of the Ukrainian historical science at the end of the XIXth - beginning of the XXth century. The theoretical problems of historiography in M.Hrushevsky's works have been analysed which are the following: its subject and task, theoratical and methodological background of historical and scientific researches, interpretation of the Ukrainian historiographical process and its periods, both formation and existence of historiographical directions and schools.There also have been analysed the scientist's views on the "pre-scientific" period in Ukrainian historiography. The characteristic peculiarities of M.Hrushevsky's personalized approach have been revealed as well as its productivity concerning the most outstanding historians of the ХІХth - beginning of the ХХth century. The ways of M.Hrushevsky's historiographic heritage usage by the contemporary Ukrainian historical science are also determined.
