Duchenjo L. Genre-linguistic features of temporal narrative structure in a belles-lettres text (on the material of English detective prose of the 20 st)

Texts of English detective prose of the XX th century. The aim is the mental reconstruction of depicted chronos as a component of artistic chronotopos and definition the role of genre in a literary work. Methods - descriptive, comparative, component-definitive, quantitative. It has been proved for the first time that the temporal factor creates genre specificity of detective prose. The in fluence of pragmatics on the structure of the whole text has been thoraughly investigated. Theoretical propositions, conclusions and illustrations obtained as a result of the analysis can be employed in lectures srminars in stylistics, lexicology, grammar of the English language in special courses in English literature and also in scientific research of students and post-graduates. The sphere of usage -higher school
