The thesis is devoted to the study of IFN system functional condition by means of a complex of evaluating tests, integrated by a notion "IFN status" in newborns with rotavirus infection and to interferonogenic properties of the agent. The data on IFN status in newborns with clinically marked and asymptomatic rotavirus infection have been presented. The dynamics of endogenic IFN circulation and the ability of newborns blood leukocytes to production of - and -IFN depending on the disease period has been determined. It has been established that in an acute period, newborns have an increase in serum IFN level and an inhibition of bloods leukocytes capacity to - and -IFN production. In the period of reconvalescence, the level of serum IFN was decreased, blood leukocytes interferon producing capacity did not reached the level, established for healthy newborns. It was substantiated the use of recombination 2-ІFN drugs in complex therapy of rotavirus infection in newborns. Data on interferon properties ofrotaviruses in experiment in vivo were received. It was determined that the presence of week interferonogenic properties in infectious active rotaviruses. Inactivation rotavirus SA-11 strain by macromolecular platinum complex, contributed to its increased interferonogenic features.
