Essay

The dissertation deals with the synthesis of chalcogen chloride compounds of rhodium in chalcogen monochlorides and with the investigation of their properties, thermal transformations and structure. Based on data obtained by XPS, IRS, and RMC a cluster structure for selenium-containing rhodium chalcogen chlorides and a mononuclear structure for rhodium sulfochlorides have been proposed. It has been found that rhodium chalcogen chlorides are the precursors of catalytic systems for the oxidative carbonylation of methane into oxygenates.
