Essay

The thesis is concerned on investigation of plant virus infection induced by TMV and PVX under effect of heavy metals. Input of copper or zinc in soil (10 MPC) resulted in the 2.5-fold increase of PVX concentration in potato plants. Soil contamination with heavy metals in superhigh concentrations prevents the development of virus-specific inclusion bodies. Heavy metals do not induce changes in morphological characteristics of TMV and PVX, or of their coat proteins.
