This dissertation made sophisticated inquiry into details, methods and technologies of the influence of NATO ideology on French and German foreign and defense policy in the euro-atlantic area, on bilateral relationship of these states. During the scientific research there was in details analyzed the core of NATO ideology in post Cold war time. The question was that after the dissolution of the Warsaw Treaty Organization and collapse of the Soviet Union, the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization faced the necessity to create, to work out a new ideology, aimed at developing the organization in the post Cold war time. NATO needed new reasons for existing. The North-Atlantic Treaty Organization worked out the ideology of enlargement in order to secure peace and stability in euro-atlantic area. Facing new threats such as international terrorism which became a challenge to all democratic nations, NATO elaborated the ideology of the struggle against international terrorism. In the dissertation, from the ideological point of view, NATO is being analyzed not only as military and political organization, but also as ideological organization, which is defending the Christian civilization and is struggling for peace and Human Rights throughout the world. Besides, in this dissertation there are being analyzed the role of French and German mass media as tools of the ideological influence. In France and Germany there is a great number of mass media, which exercise a big impact on public opinion in these countries and pay special attention to foreign and defense policy issues. They are: "Le Monde", "Le Figaro", "Le Monde diplomatique", "Liberation", "Le Parisien", "Agence France-Presse", "TV 5", "Radio France International", "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", "Frankfurter Rundschau", "Die Zeit", "Sueddeutsche Zeitung", "Die Welt", "Berliner Morgenpost", "Deutsche Welle", "Deutsche Presse Agentur", "Frankfurter Neue Presse", "Der Spiegel", "Westdeutsche Zeitung", "Stuttgarter Zeitung", "Der Tagesspiegel", "Handelsblatt". Based on experience of NATO-France-Germany relationship there were worked out the recommendations to the state bodies of Ukraine, which are involved into formation, implementation and research of Ukrainian foreign policy toward NATO, France, Germany, other member countries of NATO, European Union (EU) and Western European Union (WEU). The obtained results should be used for the Main Department for Foreign Policy of the Administration of President of Ukraine, National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, National Institute for Strategic Studies, National Institute for International Security Problems. For Ukraine, which tries to integrate into the European and euro-atlantic structures, there can be useful to study the experience of France and Germany of elaboration and development of their state ideology and national identity, which are the basis for interests and goals formation in foreign and defense policy as well as for successful integration processes of these states into the globalized world. The dissertation demonstrated as well that the important information and ideological tools of influence on public opinion abroad are NATO Information and Documentation Centers, which distribute information on North-Atlantic Treaty Organization for diverse segments of the population.
