Essay

The interaction between the components in the {Ti, Zr, Hf}-Ag-{Al, Ga} ternary systems was investigated. Isothermal sections at 500C of the {Zr, Hf}-Ag-Al systems were built in the whole concentration range. For the {Ti, Zr, Hf}-Ag-Ga systems isothermal sections at 500C were built in the range up to 75 at.% Ga. The existence of nine new ternary compounds have been found and their crystal structures were determined. These compounds belong to the known structure types: AuCu3, MgCu2, W6Fe7 and Zr4Al3. Electrical resistivity have been investigated for 6 ternary compounds of investigated systems and for 6 ternary compounds of related systems which were known before. The electrical conductivity of metallic type was observed for all investigated ternary compounds. The regularities and peculiarities of crystal structures and isothermal sections for the investigated and related ternary systems have been discussed.
