Babenko M. English adjectives of volition (paradigmatic and syntagmatic aspects)

The object of the research is lexico-semantic group od English adjectives of volition. The aim of the research is to distinguish the status and functioning of lexico-semantic group of English adjectives of volition from the point of view of semantics of its paradigmatic relations and syntagmatic correlations. The methods of the research are component and some elements of etimological analyses; descriptive and context methods; the method of domain structuring. Theoretical results and novelty - for the first time English adjectives of volition are: subjected to the complex semantic analysis; interpreted as a classified lexico-semantic field; studied with the account of their derivation and synonymic relations peculiarities, as well as syntagmatic correlations; analized from the point of view of their image-bearing semantics. Practical results: teaching lexicology, stylistics. The sphere of application: lexicology and lexicography.
