In the dissertation the scientific contribution of the Ukrainian and Polish historiographies (during the second half of the XIX - XX cc.) to the problem of the unian processes in the western dioceses of the Kyivan metropoly is analyzed. The peculiarities of the Ukrainian and Polish union-science in the context of that time conditions of the development are cleared up, the main directions and tendencies in the theme analysis are showed, the degrees of studying the particular aspects of the problem are defined. The debatable and poorly studied questions are found out and the perspective directions of the further researches are determined.
