The object of the research is the discourse of the Victorian woman as the embodiment of her stereotypic speech behaviour in the English language of the 19th century. The aim of the research is revealing the essence and the peculiarities of the communicative politeness strategies in the discourse of the Victorian woman and modelling the stereotype of her speech behaviour. The methods of the research are contextual and situational, intentional, conceptual, lexical and syntactic analyses and the method of percent-size square deviation comparison. Theoretical results and novelty: for the first time the integrated analysis of the speech behaviour of the Victorian woman is carried out, the heuristic principles of hisorical pragmatics analysis of the communicative politeness strategies in discourse and their typology are made more precise, pragmalinguistic features of the discourse of the Victorian woman and the set of its stereotypical communicative situations are established, the discursive features of thelanguage identity of the Victorian woman are shown, the exostereotype of her speech behaviour is modelled. Practical results: teaching the courses of theoretical grammar, British studies, specialised courses of the theory of discourse, sociolinguistics, and gender studies. The sphere of application: historical pragmalinguistics and gender studies.
