Essay

The polyradiomodification (copper sulfate and interferon) has been used during preoperative irradiation with esophageal cancer. Patients with gastroesophageal carcinoma have been treated by copper sulfate during postoperative irradiation. The curative pathomorphosis of esophageal tumors was investigated. It is established, that application of polyradiomodification enhances frequency of complete and partial response of tumors and enhances 2-years survival rate of patients with esophageal cancer. Use of postoperative beam therapy with copper sulfate enhances 3-years survival rate in patients with gastroesophageal carcinoma. The curative pathomorphosis of esophageal tumors was characterized both by reduction of level of viable tumor parenchyma and increase of the number of cells with pathological mitosis as well as cells in apoptosis.
