Object: metaphorized lexical/phraseological nominations in the present-day English language, in which the conceptual complex of lying/deception acquires language objectivation. Aim: establishing patterns of language objectivation of the conceptual complex of lying/deception upon considering cognitive aspects of the part-of-speech, word-building, lexical and discourse meanings of metaphorized lexical/phraseological nominations of lying/deception. Methods: methods of cognitive linguistics (trends - conceptual metaphor theory and frame semantics), traditional methods of semantic studies. Theoretical value and novelty: for the first time metaphorized lexical/phraseological nominations of lying/deception are grouped according to cognitive categories underlying their part-of-speech and word-building meanings, context dependence degree of metaphorized lexical/phraseological nominations of lying/deception - members of these groups - is determined; the specificity of the metaphoric model of the communicative event of lying/deception is established; the system of correlates of conceptual metaphors of lying/deception is presented; the semantic classification of metaphorized lexical/phraseological nominations of lying/deception is elaborated; types of discourse configurations of conceptual metaphors which underpin the meaning of metaphorized lexical/phraseological nominations of lying/deception are established. Practical results: teaching lexicology, grammar, stylistics, special courses in phraseology, cognitive semantics, using in research works of students and PhD students. Sphere of application: lexicology, cognitive studies.
