Buzhuk L. Physical-chemical characteristics of soils of oil and gas bearing areas of the central part of North flange of the Dnieper-Donets Depression: zonality, search significance

The objects are soils and subsoil rocks of the oil and gas bearing and non-productive structures in central part of Northern flange of the Dnieper-Donets Depression; the aims to evaluate the exploration informativity of soil Eh-pH measurements as a component of combination of surface geochemical exploration for oil and gas; the methods are analytical (field and laboratory Eh-pH measurements, spectral, X-ray and electron transmission micrograph analyses), statistical, synthesis; the new approach - for the first time for the main soil types in the region were determined the background and anomalous Eh-pH conditions, tectogenous geochemical barriers, exploratory associations of elements and specific changes of the soil fine fractions minerals, which connected with the hydrocarbons seepage from the oil and gas deposits; the rational stages of landscape-geochemical zoning depending on the conditions of migration and processing of surface geochemical exploration for oil and gas were recommended; the resultsare methodical references; the results have been developed into surface geochemical surveys by geological organizations; the field is Exploratory and Environmental Geochemistry.
