The thesis focuses on the analysis of the hypertext of internet-news, a new interactive type of news. Verbal and non-verbal characteristic features of internet-news hypertext are analysed. The study proves that due to amalgamation of visual, acoustic and verbal means of information packaging, effective combination of traditional mass media internet grew into global multifunctional medium of mass communication that establishes new patterns of information structuring. The paper provides grounds that make it possible to single out internet-discourse as a separate type of discourse - combination of different types of discourses: mass media, business, advertising, political, educational and everyday discourse. Internet-discourse is materialized in hypertext. It was established that in order to catch reader's attention, express evaluation, and influence reader's opinion such rhetorical means and figures as intensification, emphasis, repetition, contrast, parceling, alliteration, metaphor, and periphrasis areused. The study proves that the strategies of optimum information arrangement are information distribution and compression. These strategies are implemented on three levels - web-site, that includes the main page and topic pages, article-site, and sentence. Internet-news effective influence and persuasive aim are realized by means of non-verbal components such as graphic means, geometrical shapes, colour marking, and visual element.
