Essay

Subject of study: fragmentation process, its fundamental and general properties. Objective: constructing a fragmentation theory and finding the universal dependences for the statistical characteristics of the fragments. Methods: statistical physics and probability theory methods, solution methods of the differential equations with partial derivatives. Results novelty: The theories of fragmentation of three-, two- and one-dimensional objects are constructed. The analytical solutions and the universal asymptotics for the size distribution function of the fragments are found, which are in good agreement with the carried computer simulations and experiments. Field of application: nonequilibrium statistical and nonlinear physics.
