Essay

The thesis deals with a study of the rate and structure of injuries in various anatomical areas inflicted by animals to residents of the Kharkov Region. Bacterial contamination of bite wounds in maxillo-facial area of children caused by dogs was studied, and identity in the composition of microflora of the wounds and a soft dental plaqe of the dogs who inflicted the injuries was revealed. A relationship was revealed between the microflora isolated from a bite wound in the maxillo-facial area and its sensitivity to antibacterial drugs within the 12 hours after a dogs bite and 12 hours after the injury in cases of suppurated wounds. For the first time, a clinical classification of traumatic injuries of tissues in the maxillo-facial area of children inflicted by dogs was made and suggested. For the first time, 2 schemes for treating children with bite wounds in the maxillo-facial area caused by dogs, were developed, they make it possible to achieve healing og the wounds by first tension in 95,7 % of the casualties and reduce the number of cases of suppuration down to 4,3 %.
