The object of study - The role of general-staff officers in realisation of foreign policy of Russian empire in the Muslem East in the second half of the XIX century. The purpose of research is to define of the general-staff officers role in realizations of Russian impire foreign policy in the Muslim East in second half of the XIX century. The methods used in the research are: historical-chronolological, historical-genetic, comparative-historical. In the dissertation for the first time in modern istoriografy the preparation and use of the general-staff officers and them activity in realization of Russia foreign policy in the Muslim East are analysed. The Persian Cossack brigade role in strenghening the Russian presence in Persia is investigated. Practical importance - materials of the dissertation may be used by preparation the general courses on the history of the countries of Asia in new time, the history of Russia, the special courses, generalizing works on the military and political history of Russian empire.
