.Object of the research: chronic hepatitis of moderate activity, chronic hepatitis of marked activity, subcompensated cirrhosis of the liver. Purpose of the research: to improve the quality of diagnosis of chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver by evaluation of disturbances of macro- and micro-element composition of the blood serum, functional state of hepatocytes and improvement of pathogenetic therapy methods. Methods of research: To verify the diagnosis of chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver, biochemical, immunological, morphological, ultrasound methods were used. The functional state of the liver was evaluated using analysis of total protein and its fractions, total bilirubin and its fractions, transaminase activity, alkaline phosphatase, thymol test, the study of cellular and humoral immunity, the state of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection. Macro- and micro-element blood spectrum was evaluated determining potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper in the blood serum. Practical significance of the obtained results: The obtained findings expand the idea about pathogenetic characteristics of bioelement spectrum disturbances in chronic diffuse diseases of the liver. The necessity to study micro- and macro-element composition (potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper) in the blood serum in patients with chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver was substantiated. The association between the activity of the disease in the liver and the state of bioelement metabolism was established, which allows considering macro- and micro-elements as the criteria of the disease prognosis. The necessity of complex treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver was proved. Zinkteral and Magne-B6, which improve the state of the hepatocytes, reduce the activity of the disease in the liver and restore bioelement metabolism, can be administrated together with a generally accepted treatment. Novelty of the obtained findings: For the first time, disturbances of macro- and micro-element composition of the blood serum were determined in patients with hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver. The necessity to administer Zinkteral and Magne-B6 was substainted. Degree of introduction: The findings of the research are used in gastroenterology departments of Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital, Railway Clinical Hospital (Kharkiv), therapy departments of Blyzniuky, Zolochev, Chuguiv, Balacliya Central District Hospitals of Kharkiv Region. Main theses of the work are used in lectures and practical classes with the 4th year students at therapy department of Kharkiv State Medical University. Sphere of application: medicine, therapy.
