Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the study of evolution of the problem of theodicy in theoretical works of main philosophers of the "Kyiv Circle" - N. Berdyayev and L. Shestov (L. Shvarzman) in context of theorizing the origins of world's evil and freedom, faith and knowledge, responsibility. Based on philosophical studies of N. Berdyayev and L. Shestov, the author analyses the origins of their philosophical views, mutual relationship of their philosophical doctrines and the heritage of mainstream European and Russian thinkers of that time. The existential-personalistic character of N. Berdyayev's and L. Shestov's philosophical views is shown. The role of creativity in human "advocacy" (antropodicy) and it's being on the background of world's development is figured out.
