Essay

The subject of the investigation: the reflection of electromagnetic waves from the lower ionosphere during artificial disturbances. The aim of the investigation: the determination of radio characteristics of ionospheric response to anthropogenic disturbances. Techniques and equipment for the investigation: the Doppler ionosonde has been designed and produced for this study. The analysis of the data on Doppler sounding is based on spectral analysis and on the double-parametric resolution of the signal. Artificial disturbances are numerically modeled by ray tracing. The theoretical and applied results, novelty: the radio portraits of ionospheric response to various active impacts are determined. The models for artificial ionospheric disturbances have been corrected. The results may be used for gating artificial ionospheric disturbances against the background of natural processes. The field of employment: radio systems for monitoring the ionosphere.
