Essay

The investigation of molecular design and synthesis of the calix[4]arenes containing phosphoryl groups at the wide rims shown that it is the highly selective and effective ionophores. Extraction of radionuclides by the compound obtaineds has been investigated. It has been shown that calix[4]arenes bearing four mono- or bidentate phosphoryl containing groups at the wide rim effectively transport europium, americium. The synthesized calix[4]arenes are promising extractants for development of new tecnologies of radioactive wastes decontamination.
