The dissertation deals with theoretical, methodical, and practical problems connected with assessment of functioning of the Ukrainian airports at the present time period and in the future, which eventually allowed the author to determine the optimal structure of the airport network. The dissertation has further developed methods of complex analysis of progress of the world civil aviation as well as that of Ukraine. The work contains numerous forecast calculations in respect of traffic coming through airports. These calculations are based on integrated use of the following methods: regression models, expert estimation methods, development of different scenarios taking into account various economic microindicators, which influence the population's air transportation mobility.
