Object of research - the process for the separation of raw anthracene, 2/3 of which consist of phenanthrene, anthracene and carbazole. The aim is to study the macrokinetics of the interaction between carbazole and solid potassium hydroxyde in the organic solvent both under phase transfer catalysis and without it, and to work out the complex scheme for raw anthracene fraction separation to extract individual carbazole, anthracene and phenanthrene. Methods are spectrophotometry, gas-liquid chromatography, titrimetry, elemental analysis. The mechnistics identity of the mentioned process both under 18-crown-6-ether catalysis conditions and without these was established. A method for the estimation of catalytic activities of phase transfer catalysts in heterogeneous systems was proposed. A new route for the extraction of pure carbazole, anthracene and phenanthrene from raw antracene fraction together with laboratory procedures for producing mentioned components in accordance with this route were worked out.
