Essay

Object is the concept of a willfulness in a history of the European philosophy. The aim is the history-philosophical analysis of the notion of willfulness' evolution. Object - concept of an arbitrariness of a history of the European philosophy. A method - historical-logic, comparative - historical, reconstruction, synergetic, existential-philosophical and philosophical-postmodernistical. In the result of the conducted research it was determined that though the problem of willfulness excited interest of many philosophers beginning with the antique times till now, it wasn't tackled and was't examined as a philosophical category. The received results give opportunities not only to fill some blanks, but also to give new knowledge; they give the opportunity to see the problem of willfulness, its role and meaning from another angle. Willfulness is not that thing that separately resists freedom, that should be rejected or denied by freedom, that should be lost in the flame of freedom, but that thing that rises to the higher step; freedom of higher level, including the element of willfulness, is not reduced only to it as it contains also other new elements, and these new elements are free, concerning keeping the moment of willfulness.
