Essay

Inflammatory reaction after senile cataract extraction with IOL impantation. To increase the efficacy of surgical treatment of patients with age cataract. Ophthalmological, biochemical; biomicroscopy, ultrasound examination, tonography. Slit lamp, ultrasound scaner "Compuscan". For the first time it was determined, that decreasing of level of the free-radical form of oxygen after the using of water-soluble antioxidants increases a degree of postsurgical inflammatory process in the eye. The new method of inflammatory reaction decrease after cataract extraction with IOL impantation using the 0,25% solution of zinc sulfate was offered. Results of investigation are introduced in Filatov Institute, clinacal hospital №4 in Odessa, Odessa and Donetsk medical universities. Efficacy - the postsurgical inflammatory reaction in patients after cataract extraction with IOL impantation was decreased - the degree of pericorneal injection - on 24,6% and the anterior chamber liquid opacity - on 14,6%.
