Some changes in economic general structure as well as in branch structure of service sphere, in particular, are observed, and up-to-date classification of economic activity types are proposed in accordance with current international standards. A comparative analysis made it possible to reveal the similarity of service sphere development in countries and regions. The trends and regularities of service sphere development traced in the industrialized developed countries allow to determine some specific features of today's and future development of service sphere activity in Ukraine.
