Essay

Ecological and parasitological studies on Przewalski's horse were carried out in the Chernobyl exclusion zone (CEZ). Gastrointestinal parasitic fauna of both Przewalski's and domestic horses in CEZ comprised 33 species. Seasonal and age variations in nematode infestation were studied in both horse species. New data on some aspects of biology of Przewalski's horses were obtained. The significance of these aspects on the formation of the nematode fauna under natural conditions was also tested.
