Savytskyy K. Linguostylistic Aspects in English Song Lyrics Prosaisation of the Second Half of the 20th Century

The dissertation focuses on the study of English song lyrics prosaisation in the second half of the 20th century. In the paper the process of song lyrics prosaisation and its aspects are highlighted within the framework of stylistics and poetics. The application of methodology characteristic of current communicative and cognitive paradigm made it possible to reveal the peculiarities of episation, colloquialisation, destylisation and stereotypisation as aspects of prosaisation. Certain linguistic and extralinguistic factors of the song lyrics prosaisation are revealed, and the formula of calculating the coefficient of the lyrics prosaisation is elaborated. The analysis of consequences entailed by prosaisation in the song lyrics of the second half of the 20th century enabled us to reconstruct the invariant of the Beatles' love song lyrics and to build up the chart of the lyrics' density around their invariant. The study of linguostylistic aspects of the English lyrics prosaisation allowed to assert thatthe given lyrics tend to evolve in the direction of further intensification of the prosaisation process.
