Essay

The morphology, distribution and ecology of badger in Western Ukraine was studied in the context of forming of viable populations and switching over from the species protection problem to its efficient use. Distribution of a species to region is established and the estimation of relative number and is given to density of a population. For the first time it was detected the mutual interrelations of the badger and arboreal species at arranging of the underground passages of burrows are described. The work has theoretical and practical value, its results are important for rational conducting the hunting economy and zoological education.
