Essay

The object of the research is the concept GOD, verbalized in the English disourse. The aim of the research is the contents and the structure of the concept GOD, its place, its verbalization and categorization peculiarities in the language worldview, the analysis of its diachronic changes in the cecular discourse of the XIV-XX centuries compared to the Bible prototype. The methods of the research are analysis of the semantic roles, frame modelling, etymological lexicography description, prototypical effects analysis, diacronic comparison. Theoretical results and novelty: for the first time the frame of the concept GOD is modelled, its structure and the compozition of the slots are compared in secular and religious worldviews and diachronically. The contribution to the theories of the frame modelling of concepts, comparing of the different language worlviews and historical cognitive linguistics are made. Practical results: teaching general linguistics, the English language history, special courses in cognitive linguistics. The sphere of application: lexicology and lexicography.
