On the base of clinical and psychophysiological study with dosimetric support of the representative sample of children exposed to acute prenatal irradiation (born between April 26, 1986 and February 26, 1987 from pregnant who had been evacuated from Prypiat to Kiev after the Chernobyl accident) with parallel populational control (50 children from Kiev), the radioneuroembriological effect has been revealed; its comprehensice clinical and psychophysiological characterization was presented; the diagnostic criteria of mental disorders following prenatal exposure were elaborated; the risk factors influencing on the intellectual development and clinical and psychophysiological status were revealed. It was shown a possibility for assessment of prenatal exposure consequences by computerised EEG. The protocol for unified diagnostic of neuropsychiatric disorders and the program for treatment and rehabilitation have been recommended. It was shown that at the radiation accident on the nuclear reactor the brain damage in utero is possible not only at the most critical periods of cerebrogenesis (8-15 weeks of gestation), but and later, when the thyroid doses in utero are the highest.
