The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the American-Egyptian relations' evolution in a context of the Middle East policy of the USA in 1952-1991. For the first time on a dissertation level the set of the questions to be researched has been extended to include some that have not received due illumination in domestic, American and Arabic scholarship. The attempt has been made to investigate the problem in its most developed and complex version. Author suggests, that from the begging of 1970's Egyptian leaders have considered the USA a senior partner in pursuing the regional policy. Through the comprehensive analysis it is revealed that during the entire researched period the USA has used determining model "the economic assistance in exchange for the political concessions" towards Egypt. The reasons, dynamics, results and consequences of American-Egyptian collaboration with the purpose of the Middle East crisis settlement are covered.
