2 genotypes, D and A, were detected in patients with acute hepatitis B. Genotype D appeared to be dominating. Certain differences in the clinical signs of the disease among HBV genotype D genetic variants were established. The role of regulatory cytokines, acute phase indexes and NO metabolism was characterized in patients with acute viral hepatitis B depending on HBV genotype D genetic variants. Correlative dependences were established between the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines and hepatocyte cytolysis indexes. Three types of immune reactions were established: normally reactive, dissociative and hyporeactive. These types can be determined by the character of the principal regulatory cytokine response and are in close relation with severity degree, clinical signs, and the outcomes of the disease.
