Essay

The thesis covers an influence of the hydrogen-thermal treatment (HTT) on powders of aluminum nitride in order to prepare products having increased functional characteristics. A study was made of the temperature and time effects on chemical properties of aluminum nitride powders differing in grain sizes, and production process conditions were optimized. Physical and mechanical techniques were used to investigate the structural features of treated powders and products. It was shown that the use of HTT 100-200 ?C reduces the temperature of hot pressing or sintering, improves the fracture resistance, microhardness, electric resistance and dielectric characteristics. The tests at National technical university "Kyiv politechnical institute" and welding plant "ВИТ" showed high operation characteristics of gas nozzles made of aluminum nitride for welding units, which allowed confirmation for their pilot application.
