Object of investigation - example as a type of text of modern English didactic literature. Аim of investigation - development of theoretical and methodological grounds of text analysis and determination of typological linguostylistic and pragmatic parameters of texts of examples. Methods of investigation - inductive and deductive analysis and synthesis, elements of concept analysis, graphic devices. Theoretical results and novelty - the definition of the example as a type of text and a stylistic device is propounded, invariant model of texts of examples, typology of texts of examples, the classification of functions are constructed, varieties of compositional-speech forms are determined, paradigm of text categories, pragmatic potential of expressive means and stylistic devices are analyzed.
