Essay

Subject of inquiry - processes of forming and growing of natural and mixed (by origin) and clean (by composition) spruce forests of different density which growth on altitudes from 650 to 900 m above sea level. Objective - estimation of current state, increment of spruce forests of Ukrainian Carpathian Gorgan depending on different intensity of cleaning cuttings and development of mathematical models of dynamics of spruce forests, development of algorithms and software for analysis of cleaning cuttings influence on forest forming. Methods - methods standard in forest inventory and forestry which are used for setting of temporary and permanent plots, estimation of biometric parameters of forest stand. Methods of classic and special statistics for input data analysis and uncertainty estimation; theory of ordinary differential equations at developing of stem generatrix; elements of structural and object-oriented programming at coding of developed models and development of software for data processing andresult analysis. Novelty - Gorgan forest stand forming and increment by main inventory indexes at clear cuttings of different intensity are studied. Mathematical models of crown parameter alteration and tree increment for 5 year period depending on tree removal intensity are developed. Practical recommendations on forming spruce plantation taking into account tree resistance against wind are developed. Methods of gathering and processing of experimental material pertaining to study of growth dynamics of forests of different forming intensity are expanded. Results - table of spruce crown volumes by length and diameter is developed. Models for estimation of crown size depending on forest density. Optimal number of trees per area unit and their differentiation by thickness are found. Models of dynamics of growth and development of plantation from stage of underwood to maturity depending on different intensity of tree removal from plantation are elaborated. Major criteria of spruce plantation resistance are listed. Branch - forestry.
