Essay

Object – nickel and silver coatings and their electrochemical formation; purpose – an electrolyte for joint precipitation of metals developed on the basis of study in kinetic regularities of silver precipitation from a thiosulfate solution and nickel precipitation from sulfamate electrolyte; methods – a complex of electrochemical diffusion, potentiometric, polarization methods and mathematical modeling; novelty – a sulfamate-thiosulfate electrolyte for cathodic precipitation of nickel-silver coating proposed for practical application; results – a manufacturing process proposed for application of nickel-silver coatings on steel base permitting to obtain large-crystalline Ni-Ag precipitates with a developed surface; used at Kommunar Manufacturing Association, Kharkiv; field of technology – electric engineering, machine-building, instrumentation as well as carbon monoxide oxidation catalyst.
