The thesis is devoted to the research of modern Ukrainian historiography in Ukraine during World War I. On the basis of historiographic sources the leading tendencies are exposed and the modern periodization of exploration of the history of World War I in Ukraine is motivated, the characteristics of the content and peculiarities of every historiographic source are given. Sientific exploration of the history of World War I is given in the content of the clearing up the Ukrainian question in the policy of opposite sides in the War, the history of military actions and the problems of Ukrainian military movement and military construction.
