The dissertation is a complex research of the complicated process of the modern society transition from the industrial to the information order. The following focal notions are analyzed in the dissertation: theoretical and methodological bases of the information society development, the model of informationalizm as a metaideology of the information society development, estrategies. World indexes and models of the information society are researched and the peculiarities of its development in the western democracies are revealed. The present state and key priorities of the information society development in Ukraine are researched. The dissertation reveals the comprehension of the information society in contemporary conditions and researches the model of informationalizm as the metaideology of the information society development The notion of information awareness as the fundamental basis of society's transition to the existence under the condition of information order is being grounded On the basis of the conducted research the author has proved the ultimate importance of the strategic and phased institutional support of the information society in Ukraine.
