Theoretical study of modular and rating instruction from the standpoint of its individualization is done. Modular and rating instruction is presented as a uniform innovatory technology individualizing to a great extent teaching at a higher technical educational establishment. Types of rating evaluation of students' knowledge and skills that are met the case of modular instruction are worked out. Methods of modular structuring of the subject content ensuring its individualization are shown. Principal criteria of the efficiency of modular and rating instruction technology are substantiated.
