The object of the investigation in the given thesis is the Russian translations of Th. Moore's works: "Irish Melodies", poetic and prose novel "Lalla Roohk", biographies of Byron and Sherydan, critical articles in Russian periodicals (reviews, reminiscences, testimonials). The objective of the dissertation is to create the complete picture of Th. Moore's Russian perception in the XIX century. The practical value of the research relies in the possibility to use the obtained results for general courses of Russian and Foreign Literature History in the higher educational institutions. The methods: comparative typological and historical functional methods.
